Aspire Speeder Revvo 200w Tc Starter Kit Review

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Aspire Speeder 200W modern starter kit arrived on my desk-bound with a considerable amount of fanfare, and that'southward unremarkably when my hype detectors plow cerise. Thankfully, there is no hype with the Speeder, and its companion Athos tank, just really neat vaping performance.

I have a confession. I take never once used an Aspire mod. Not for any item reason, mind you. It's but that through all of them – Archon, Pegusus, NX and Zelos, among others – I've always considered Aspire more of a " tank company ."

Spoiler Alarm: I no longer consider them only a tank company. And now I'm wondering if I've been missing out .

No, they're not perfect; that's why we write these lengthy reviews. But for all of the devices that cross my path each month, few of them are as consequent as the Speeder, and fewer offer this much value for the toll. Hither's why…[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Don't Gauge a Book…"][vc_column_text]The Aspire Speeder Starter Kit packaging isn't going to win awards for its box pattern, which features imagery that suggests a much smaller, less substantial device within. The black, spartan box doesn't do much to sell the modern, which is much more elegant than the pictures imply.

Inside, y'all'll see why. My deep matte black test model practically melded with the cream insert. But in one case I removed it, I was greeted with a sleek, mature-looking modernistic with only a touch of gloss among the soft-coated aluminum exterior.

In the hand, the dual-18650 Speeder has a squeamish ergonomic feel. It'southward non weighty, but feels substantial and durable. The soft coating also feels smooth, merely is only grippy plenty to ensure a sense of confidence in the hand.

In add-on to the grip-friendly texture, the Aspire Speeder has some cut-out texture on the sides of the device, which feel good, but actually serve to confuse the user. The burn down fundamental is hidden into this pattern element, which is identical on both sides. If not for the Aspire logo on the flush fire bar/push button, it would be impossible to distinguish it within the blueprint.

The residual of the visual presentation is standard. A front-placed up/downward control push is located underneath the bright 0.96" OLED screen, and both are strong, if not a little predictable and tedious. But, given the sleek, understated blueprint of the Aspire Speeder, it was probably intentional.

I nice usability chemical element is the accelerometer in the display that determines which way the display faces, depending on how the Speeder is held. It's a small enhancement, but at this phase of the game in vape innovation, these small touches stand up out.

The starting time 510 connection is press-fit, but solid, and near tanks sat flush without business. Ironically, the included Athos sub-ohm tank did not, merely nosotros'll embrace that in a bit.

I do wish Aspire positioned the connection in the centre of the device, rather than outset, since the form factor merely screams for symmetry. The Vaporesso Revenger benefits from this positioning, and I think the svelte outside of the Aspire Speeder would have been more consummate had they gone this route.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][sc_subheading subtitle="Athos – a near noble musketeer "][vc_column_text]The included Aspire Athos sub-ohm tank is a bona fide flavor auto, and is a welcome addition to this packet. Not simply does it look amazing atop the Speeder, but information technology complements just about any mod with which you use it.

With the same well-machined, lightweight aluminum construction every bit the Speeder, the 4mL Athos is a unique, striking tank which makes for an center-catching, matte combination that will stand out against the usual sea of polished metal finishes on your desk.

Though the top-fill cap and bottom airflow aren't annihilation special, they work extremely well, even if the ARC ring is removable, and tin can come off when turning information technology. It's not my favorite design, and was a rare blackness mark confronting the Athos.

But I loved the way the aluminum frame protects the drinking glass without blocking any view inside the tank. Non only do yous non need a vape band with the Athos, merely you won't want to utilize one. It's that attractive.

Of course, looks only get you and so far, so I was thrilled to find that the Athos really delivers on the flavor and vapor front. In fact, I would debate this tank performs with the best tanks in this category, out-flavoring my Cleito EXO, and producing as much vapor as my OBS-V tank.

The included Aspire A5 penta-gyre and A3 triple-coil (both Kanthal) are thirsty monsters, but they pay back the user with thick, voluminous clouds that don't wane until the tank is nearly empty. They're also extremely long-lasting, as both of mine gave a solid week of consistent vaping before any muted tastes entered the fold.

No, a calendar week isn't the BEST longevity we've seen from a replaceable coil, but in this mean solar day and age, with more than moderate (read: not for testing) use, information technology was impressive.

Information technology should too exist noted that the recommendations for wattage were pinpoint accurate. The A5 is rated for 100-120 watts, and admittedly sang at 110. At this level, the vape was warm and flavorful, merely not overly powerful, which I prefer.

The more than-conservative A3 is rated for 60-75 watts, and I found its sweet spot to also be right in the middle, at 70 watts. Though this was (obviously) a much cooler vape, it was no less flavorful. Because I vape at relatively moderate wattages, this was my preferred coil, due to its reduced due east-liquid consumption, and slightly more than nuanced flavor. But these two coils really show off the versatility of the Athos sub-ohm tank.

I take just ii existent complaints about the Athos. First, the installed plastic top cap, while attractive and cool on the lips, is far too wide. The included Delrin alternative is much more than comfortable to apply, and doesn't take the scratchy plastic threading (which is just leap to wear away with frequent fills). Plus, Aspire didn't include a 510-adapter, and so if y'all're going to use the Athos, you're going to exercise information technology the way Aspire intended.

Secondly, the loose airflow control ring doesn't do a very good job sealing off the vacuum, meaning the Athos leaks more than most modern tanks. Several presumably successful refills quietly became sticky, flooded disasters – unremarkably when the coil was nonetheless breaking in. Over time, the problem dissipated, but the sticky memories remain.

These are pocket-sized quibbles, because when the Athos fires, it does so on all cylinders, and provides an amazing vape. If an RBA head was included, it would be a perfect package in my eyes. The Aspire Speeder Starter Kit truly feels similar a cohesive pairing, and yeah, they do work better together, than they do with other devices. No, it'due south non significant, nor should information technology forbid y'all from using either the Speeder or the Athos with other elements of your drove. Merely there's something about a well-matched pair that just works.

The Speeder itself vaped well with whatever tank or dripper I through at it. In fact, I HAD to endeavor other tanks, because the afore-mentioned A3 and A5 coils are both Kanthal, meaning temp control was off the tabular array for the Athos.

Using a collection of MTL and sub-ohm tanks, I found the Speeder to work best as a directly wattage device. Information technology's not that the temp command was hard to utilize or control, only rather because information technology seemed a impact underpowered when compared to wattage style. Mayhap Aspire knew this going in, and made the determination to simply include Kanthal coils as a issue.

Using TCR style, I had the best experience in temp control, and the nickel and titanium RDA coils I threw at it performed admirably. The Speeder seemed to throw a touch on more power in these modes, than with the preset Ni/SS/Ti settings. Over again, not a huge difference, but worth noting nonetheless.

Moving dorsum to wattage mode, I tried a bunch of unique tanks on the Aspire Speeder mod – which I admit I chose every bit much for their ain aesthetics as their vape quality – and the results were outstanding.

Using such relics equally the Kayfun V3 Mini, the UD EZ mail-less RTA, the OBS Engine and the Digiflavor Pharaoh dripper tank, all vaped smoother than warm butter. And they all added something to the Speeder's await and experience.

More than importantly, they all showed off how well the Speeder vaped. The device easily reached and achieved 200 watts on 2 18650 cells, and didn't stutter in one case. Plus, the Speeder'due south aluminum chassis stayed absurd throughout, even when consistently pumping out 150 watts or more than throughout an evening.

Battery life on the Speeder is too quite good. Not the best I've seen, mind yous, merely nonetheless impressive for a high-wattage modernistic. I accept taken the Speeder out for several solar day trips and had no problem making it through an evening without swapping batteries.

Possibly my only small complaint about the Speeder is the afore-mentioned cutouts on the side of the device, which occasionally brand it difficult to locate the fire button.
